HILLSBORO, Ore. --- Four Portland pitchers combined to hold No. 8 Oregon State to just three hits, while striking out 14, as the Pilots toppled the Beavers 5-1 on Tuesday night at Ron Tonkin Field. Cody Hawken provided a two-run single for the Pilots, and Matt Kelly, Hunter Montgomery, and Gabe Skoro also claimed RBI's during the win.
The Pilots (16-9) jumped ahead early in the bottom of the first after senior right-hander Kevin Baker tossed a scoreless top of the frame. Three walks loaded the bases for Kelly, who was plunked by OSU starter Jake Pfennings to force in the game's first run.
