Portland men's tennis continued action at both the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships in Los Angeles and the Gonzaga Invitational in Spokane, Wash. on Saturday.
Issa Yoshida made a run to the semifinals of the SoCal Intercollegiate with an impressive win against San Diego's Will Davies before getting knocked out by the draw's No. 2 seed from host USC. The Pilot doubles tandem of Sema Pankin and Eleftherios Neos advanced to the Sunday semifinals with an 8-6 win against a pair from San Diego.
At the Gonzaga Invitational, Julien Penzlin and Nikolas Tvedt will compete for the doubles title in the top draw on Sunday morning, while freshman Oscar Brown teamed up with a Gonzaga player and will go for the doubles crown in the White Draw.
