SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- Nick Brink had everything working on Thursday, fanning eight San Francisco hitters over seven innings of work to help propel the Portland Pilots over the Dons 9-2.
In addition to his eight strikeouts, Brink (5-0) tossed seven innings, giving up two runs, both of them earned, on five hits and walking two for Portland (28-20, 16-9). Jack Folkins finished it off for the Pilots, throwing two shutout innings while allowing two hits, with one walk and one strikeout.
Zach Toglia led the way offensively for the Pilots, going 2-for-5 in the ballgame with a double, a home run and two RBI.
