VANCOUVER, Wash. -- The Portland Pilots took first in both varsity eight races at Vancouver Lake on Saturday, beating the Saint Mary's Gaels and the Seattle U Redhawks. The Pilots also took second in the varsity four race.
"Conditions out at the lake today were very challenging," Portland head coach Gulliver Scott said of the choppy waters."But we were able to stay focused and put together some good performances."
Portland's varsity eight finished first on a windy day at the lake with a time of 8:05.5, their second year in a row earning a win. It is also their second race this season where they've earned a win.
