PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots could not find a groove offensively against the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Saturday and fell 7-0. The loss splits the series at 1-1, with the deciding game coming tomorrow.
Christian Peters took the loss for the Pilots today. The pitcher held strong at the start but ended up having six runs counted against him as well as 10 hits in 5.1 innings pitched.
The Pilots struggled to get the bats going all evening, tallying only two hits on the day. William Kempner, the winning pitcher for Gonzaga, made life difficult for Portland at the plate, striking out 10 Pilots.
