EUGENE, Ore. – The Portland Pilots wrapped up a two-match day in Eugene with a split, falling to Oregon 0-5 before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory over Bushnell. With the result, Portland moves to 4-8 overall on the season.
In the opening match, the Pilots faced a tough Oregon squad and were swept 5-0. Despite a competitive three-set battle on flight #2, Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson came up just short, falling 19-21, 21-17, 17-15 to the Ducks. Other matchups saw Oregon take control in straight sets.
The Pilots responded with a great win in the afternoon, defeating Bushnell for the second time this season.
