Pilots Shoot Past LMU for Road Sweep

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Portland matched a season-high with 15 three-pointers and raced to a 92-78 West Coast Conference victory over the Loyola Marymount Lions Saturday afternoon at Gersten Pavilion. The win completes a season sweep and a weekend road sweep after Portland knocked off Pepperdine on Thursday. It marks the first Los Angeles road sweep since the 2009 season.

Junior point guard Alec Wintering led the Pilots (11-15, 5-8 WCC) with 29 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Sophomore guard D'Marques Tyson continued his torrid shooting with 23 points, including 6-of-12 from three-point range. Tyson also collected a career-high eight rebounds.
