VANCOUVER LAKE, Wash. --- The Portland rowing team hosted Seattle U in a dual on Saturday morning at Vancouver Lake, with the Pilots putting four boats on the water. Portland raced a varsity eight and a trio of fours, while the Redhawks had a novice eight and a varsity four.
Portland's varsity eight, which had Miranda Reyes as the coxswain and Desi Petrova rowing stroke, covered the course in a time of 7:03.08.
UP's varsity four 'A' crew finished on top of that event with a time of 7:47.08. Allison Palazzatto coxed the 'A' crew and Karen Gonzalez Yanez was the stroke, and their time was six seconds clear of Portland's 'B' boat, which had Emma Papenhausen in the coxswain seat and Audrey Shellum-Gonzalez as the stroke.
