PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland raced to an 86-36 season-opening victory against Willamette University Tuesday night at the Chiles Center. All 11 Pilots that saw action scored, led by junior guard Malcolm Porter and junior forward Jacob Tryon with 13 points each.
The Pilots (1-0) wasted little time in setting the tone by rattling off a 23-3 run early and never looked back. Freshman point guard Chase Adams started and provided an immediate impact at both ends of the court with four steals, four points and four assists during the run. He finished the night with four points, three rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
