BOISE, Idaho -- The Portland Pilots extended the best start in program history by defeating the Boise State Broncos in a thrilling five set match on Friday night. The Pilots won the match by a 3-2 margin at 25-17, 25-27, 13-25, 25-21, and 15-11.
The Pilots (11-0) are one of seven remaining undefeated teams in the nation and broke the program record for longest winning streak, which was formerly 10 consecutive wins during the 2015 season. The Broncos fell to 7-3 overall with the loss.
Down two sets to one, the Pilots dug in and overcame multiple Bronco runs to complete the five-set comeback.
