LAKE NATOMA, Calif. --- Portland's varsity four claimed a first-place finish as the Pilots opened the spring season Saturday at the Sacramento State invitational on Lake Natoma. Portland also raced a pair of eights and a second four at the invite.
Portland's varsity eight, coxed by Miranda Reyes and Desi Petrova rowing stroke, topped conference foe Saint Mary's for second place in that event. Portland posted a time of 6:24.9, and Sacramento State finished on top of the field with a time of 6:17.6.
Portland's second eight finished third behind the Hornets and Saint Mary's, covering the course in 6:43.
