EVANSVILLE, Ind. --- Eddie Sanchez scored a highlight-reel goal and Erik Edwardson converted a late penalty kick to spur the Portland Pilots to a 2-2 draw with host Evansville at the ProRehap Aces Soccer Classic Friday night at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
The Pilots (3-1-1) were trailing by two goals late in regulation when Sanchez scored perhaps the goal of the year.
Sanchez's strike came in the 65th minute to cut the deficit in half. Freshman Rey Ortiz set up the goal by chipping one towards the spot in the box where Sanchez elevated for an overhead volley and drilled his right-footed shot into the right side netting.
