PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team launched their fall season at the Portland Fall Classic on the Willamette River in downtown Portland Sunday morning. The Pilots raced six boats at the Fall Classic, which was a head race on a 5,000 meter course.
Portland's varsity eight began the day, with Miranda Reyes at coxswain and Veronica Nicacio rowing stroke. The Pilots posted a time of 18:54.185, which was second to Oregon State and faster than Seattle U. Next up for the Pilots was a second eight, and that boat posted a time of 19:52.099. Oregon State finished first in that event as well, and the Portland boat was coxed by Alice Chang.
