AMERICAN LAKE, Wash. --- The Portland women's rowing varsity eight finished first and the Pilots had a solid showing on a windy morning at the PLU Invite, which took place on Saturday on American Lake. The varsity eight covered the course in a time of 6:52.8, which was easily the fastest time of the day.
The Pilots finished five seconds ahead of second place and NCAA Division II national power Western Washington, and Puget Sound was well back in third place.
The Pilots raced in eight events on the day, with some crews rowing more than one race.
