PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland men's soccer program picked up a marquee early season win with a 2-0 victory over No. 25 Ohio State Friday night in the first game of the Nike Portland Invitational before 2,082 fans and a raucous student section at Merlo Field at the Clive Charles Soccer Complex.
Freshman Gio Magana-Rivera and junior Erik Edwardson scored the Pilot goals, while sophomore Jackson Jellah logged a pair of assists.
Jellah, who scored the first three goals of the season for the Pilots last weekend, has now played a part in all five Portland goals this season.
