SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Portland Pilots rowing team concluded day-one action at the San Diego Crew Classic, with three boats racing. They finished sixth in the second heat of their varsity eight race, seventh in their varsity four race and eighth in the second varsity eight race.
The Pilots' first varsity eight finished sixth with a time of 7:25.894. That time was just over three tenths of a second behind Loyola Marymount. Sage Iona was the coxswain for Portland with Catherine Watson as the stroke.
The varsity four rowed next, taking seventh place with a time of 8:43.
