PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots (15-7, 2-3 WCC) dropped a marathon 14-inning game 4-3 to the San Francisco Dons (14-11, 3-2 WCC), giving the Dons the series. It was the longest game the Pilots have played since the 1992 season.
Joey Gartrell took the loss for Portland after allowing the winning run in the 14th inning. He went 2.1 innings with that being the only run allowed. Brett Gillis was solid in the start with only one run and three hits allowed with eight strikeouts in six innings. Portland went through four pitchers on the day.
