MALIBU, Calif. – The Portland Pilots (31-21, 17-10 WCC) ceded the rubber match to the Pepperdine Waves (24-26, 12-15 WCC), losing the series after a 3-1 loss in the finale. The game was the final regular season match for both teams.
Despite the loss, the Pilots still finish the regular season with a 31-21 record overall and a 17-10 record in WCC play. At 31 wins, this is just the fourth time in program history the Pilots have eclipsed at least 30 wins in a season and the first time since 2010. The 17 wins in WCC play are the most since the Pilots joined the conference in 1996.
