HILLSBORO, Ore. --- Portland's non-conference baseball game against Oregon was suspended after 8.0 innings with the Ducks leading the Pilots 3-1 on a wet Wednesday night at Ron Tonkin Field. The game, which featured multiple rain delays, will be completed on May 17 in Eugene before the two teams play a previously scheduled game at PK Park.
A host of Pilot pitchers held the Ducks hitless during the first four innings. But in the fifth, A.J. Balta drove in the first run with a triple deep in the right-center gap. Steven Packard then made it a 3-1 game with a perfectly placed bunt down the third base line, which allowed Balta to cross home plate.
