PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots (15-6, 2-2 WCC) dropped their series opener against the San Francisco Dons (13-11, 2-2 WCC) 3-1 at Joe Etzel Field. The loss snaps Portland's three-game winning streak.
Caleb Franzen took the loss for Portland, dropping to 1-4 on the year. He went six innings with six strikeouts and two runs allowed. Owen Stevenson earned the win for San Francisco after allowing only one run in 6.2 innings.
There wasn't much offense for the Pilots, who only had one run and five hits on the day. Ben Patacsil was the only batter with two or more hits, going 2-for-4.
