PORTLAND, Ore. -- In their first home match of the season, the Portland Pilots women's tennis team fell 5-2 to the Eastern Washington Eagles. Iva Zelic and Lela Daszuta earned the two points for the Pilots with victories in the No. 1 and No. 5 singles matches.
The doubles matches went down to the wire with the No. 3 match deciding the point. Lela Daszuta and Jana Tanevska fell to a 4-1 deficit but managed to push Louise Waite and Yasmin Mansouri to a 5-5 tie. Waite and Mansouri, however, pulled through in the final two sets to secure the doubles point for the Eagles.
