PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots (1-0) started the 2022 season in style with a dominant 12-2 win over the Creighton Bluejays (0-1).
Ben Patacsil was the top batter for the Pilots, going 5-for-5 with a home run and two RBI's on the day. Patacsil's five hits were just one shy of the single-game record, and he is one of just 10 Pilots to hit that total. Sam Brown also added a home run, going 1-for-4 at the plate. Ty Saunders and Nich Klemp were the only other batters to earn multiple hits on Friday, with Saunders batting 3-for-4 with four RBI's and Klemp going 2-for-4.
