PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland women's tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Santa Clara in West Coast Conference action Saturday at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center. The Pilots (6-8, 1-3 WCC) improve to 6-0 at home this season, while the Broncos (6-9, 0-2) have lost eight straight.
Portland grabbed the early lead by securing the doubles point. The Pilot No. 1 tandem of Sally Pethybridge and Alaia Rubio Perez continued their good form with a 6-2 win against Tian Yu Dong and Jillian Roa. They are now 9-2 this spring in doubles, including 2-0 against league competition.
