PORTLAND, Ore. – The Terry Porter era at University of Portland tipped off Saturday night as the Pilots defeated Multnomah University, 87-57, in an exhibition game at the Chiles Center. Senior point guard Alec Wintering led the Pilots with 29 points, five rebounds, four assists and five steals.
The Lions, a member of the NAIA Cascade Collegiate Conference, entered the game with a 2-1 record and hung around for a good portion of the first half before Wintering took over. Portland's All-West Coast Conference floor general scored 19 points in the period including the final six points as the Pilots carried a 42-27 lead into the break.
