MISSOULA, Mont. – The Portland women's tennis team cruised to a 5-2 victory over Montana Friday afternoon at the Peak Racquet Club. The Pilots improve to 2-6 overall, while the Griz drop to 5-6.
Portland secured the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. Radina Dimitrova and Emily Soares teamed up for a 6-3 win at No. 3 and then freshmen Raphaelle Leblanc and Lourdes Ramalle clinched with a 7-5 win at No. 2 in their doubles debut together. Sophomores Anna Oberg and Jelena Lukic won in a tiebreaker at No. 1.
The momentum carried into singles as the top four singles players took the court in the first wave.
