CHENEY, Wash. – The Portland women's tennis team knocked off Eastern Washington by a 6-1 margin Sunday to cap a 2-0 weekend and run their winning streak to four matches. The Pilots improve to 5-2 overall, while the Eagles drop to 2-2.
The four-match win streak is the most since the 2019 Pilots won five straight early in the year.
Portland took the doubles point as Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge won 6-2 at No. 1 followed by freshmen Meagan Pearson and Alaia Rubio Perez claiming a 6-4 win at No. 3.
The singles matches were highly competitive, but Zelic set the tone with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the top of the lineup.
