PORTLAND, Ore. -- Peter Allegro collected six strikeouts and Nick Brink added five more to help propel the Portland Pilots over the Niagara Purple Eagles 12-1 on Sunday. The win clinched the series for the Pilots, their third series win on the year.
In addition to his six strikeouts, Allegro (1-2) went six innings, giving up one run on four hits and walking none for Portland (10-5). Brink's five strikeouts came in addition to his three shutout innings of work where he allowed just one hit without surrendering a walk.
Evan Scavotto led the way offensively for the Pilots, going 2-for-2 in the ballgame with two doubles, a walk and three RBI's.
