SALEM, Ore.--- The University of Portland men's and women's cross country teams both took first place in their respective races at the Charles Bowles Invitational at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Ore., Saturday morning.
The seventh-ranked Portland men started off the competition in the Cardinal 8K. Withholding some of their top runners, the men finished with a team score of 23, which was 64 points higher than second-place New Mexico, who finished with 87 points overall. Transfer Brady Johnson led the Pilots with a first-place finish (24:15.7), and he was followed by redshirt sophomore Logan Orndorf, who took second with a time of 24:15.
