DALLAS, Texas – For the second time, Portland Pilots relief pitcher Peter Allegro has been named a preseason All-American, making the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Preseason All-America First Team.
Allegro, a closer for the Pilots, was stellar on the mound last season. Allegro made 24 appearances with one start, posting a 2.76 ERA and a 4-2 win-loss record. His 13 saves were the most of any WCC pitcher and ninth in the nation. The Tacoma, Wash. native was an All-WCC Second Team selection and an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team honoree. He was the first all-region selection from Portland – along with Brett Gillis – since 1992.
