SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland senior Michail Pervolarakis was named the 2018 West Coast Conference Player of the Year on Wednesday, as voted on by the league's ten head coaches. Pervolarakis takes home the WCC's top individual honor for the second consecutive season.
Pervolarakis became the first Portland men's tennis player to earn WCC Player of the Year honors last season and he now joins a list of five players in WCC history to take home the honor more than once. He joins Sebastian Fanselow (2012-13), Andre Begemann (2007-08), Scott Doerner (2005-06) and Al Garland (2000-02) as the only student-athletes to earn the two-time honor with Pervolarakis becoming the first from a school other than Pepperdine to do so.
