EUGENE, Ore. – Laura Pellicoro placed sixth in her 800-meter semifinals heat Thursday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted at Hayward Field. Pellicoro recorded a time of 2:05.59 to finish 20th overall among semifinal competitors. The top two runners from each of the three heats and next three best times advanced to Saturday's finals.
Pellicoro capped a phenomenal sophomore season by qualifying for nationals at both the indoor and outdoor championships. She broke the Indoor Mile school record with a time of 4:34.45 to qualify for nationals and then broke the 800-meter program record at the NCAA West Prelims with a time of 2:03.
