OMAHA, Neb. --- The Omaha Mavericks held off the Pilots to win game one of a double header 1-0 on Friday afternoon before rallying for a 7-5 victory in the second game at Seymour Smith Park. Hunter Montgomery had three RBI's in game two for the Pilots, and Henry Cheney left the yard with a solo homer.
Portland (11-3) jumped out to an early lead after Jake Holcroft led off with a single in the top of the first. Chad Stevens followed with an RBI double, and just like that the Pilots were on top 1-0.
The lead would grow to 2-0 in the fourth inning when Cheney belted a solo blast over the wall in left field.
