PROVO, Utah. --- The Portland Pilots Volleyball team battled No.7 BYU in the Smith Fieldhouse, Thursday night in a West Coast Conference match. The Cougars maintained their WCC home win streak with sweep over the Pilots with set scores of 25-15, 25-10, and 25-14. BYU has not been defeated at the Smith Fieldhouse during WCC play since 2011
The Pilots (13-6, 5-5) fought evenly with BYU (18-1, 7-0) to start the first set, reaming at 10-10 before the Cougars produced a short run headed by kills from junior Veronica Jones-Perry. Senior Sarah Savoca attempted to slow down the Cougar momentum with a kill and an ace, but BYU continued to push forward to a 20-13 lead off of kills from Jones-Perry, senior Cosy Burnett, and sophomore McKenna Miller.
