PORTLAND, Ore. --- After the Pilots remained within reach of No. 9 Oregon during the first half, the Ducks out-scored Portland by 18 in the third quarter and would go on to claim an 85-52 win in a non-conference women's basketball game played on Monday night at the Chiles Center. The Pilots were led by sophomore forward Alex Fowler, who finished with 12 points.
The Pilots (1-1) gave the Ducks (2-0) all they could handle in the first quarter as it was only a two-point game after Maddie Muhlheim drove to the hoop and finished. The Oregon lead was still only two points moments later when Fowler converted down low, but the Ducks ended the quarter with a 7-0 run to claim a nine-point edge.
