PORTLAND, Ore. --- Two days after picking one of the most historic wins in program history, the Portland Pilots were overcome by the No. 5 San Diego Toreros in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at the Chiles Center. The Toreros claimed the West Coast Conference match by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-14.
The first went to the Toreros (17-2, 8-0), who surged ahead after the two teams exchanged points to begin the afternoon. The Pilots (11-9, 4-4 WCC) lead 3-1 early after a kill from Hannah Troutman. Moments later the Pilots still led by one at 6-5, but that's when the Toreros embarked on an 8-0 run to take control of the game.
