SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The No. 18 San Diego Toreros picked up a 4-0 win over the visiting Portland Pilots in West Coast Conference men's tennis action Friday afternoon at the Hogan Tennis Center.
San Diego claimed a hard-fought doubles point to open the scoring. Portland's Nicolas Ocana and Julien Penzlin earned a 6-3 win at the No. 2 position, but the Toreros (14-2, 3-0 WCC) clinched with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
The home side came out strong in singles winning the opening set at all six positions, but the Pilots (4-7, 0-2 WCC) battled back to make it interesting.
