LOS ANGELES, Calif --- Though the Portland Pilots leveled the match against LMU, after a two-set deficit, the Lions made a late comeback in the fifth set to prevail over the Pilots 3-2 in the Gersten Pavilion on LMU's senior day. The Pilots battled through the West Coast Conference match with set scores of 21-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, and 13-15.
After the Lions took the first two sets, Portland bounced back in the third set to push past LMU early by three points, headed by kills from senior Hannah Troutman and sophomore Katie Barker. The Lions produced a small run to close the gap and come within one of the Pilots, but Troutman produced back-to- back kills, followed by two kills from junior Reghan Pukis and an ace from Barker moments later to increase the score to 17-12.
