LaRocco takes Gold at the NACAC U23 Championships

EL SALVADOR. --- Lauren LaRocco took first the NACAC 5000 meter this past Sunday in El Salvador at the U23 Championships. Representing USA, LaRocco crossed the finish line with a time of 16:57.27, earning a gold medal while finishing 90 seconds ahead her next closest competitor, Angelin Figueroa of Puerto Rico.

LaRocco finishes off her impressive sophomore campaign at the NACAC U23 Championships, which features more than 300 athletes from over 26 nations and occurs every two years. She was also recently named the Fr. Chester Prusynski Female Student Athlete of the year, nabbed First Team All-American Honors in the 5000 and 10,000 meter, landed on the WCC All-Conference First Team for cross country, earned WCC All-Academic honors, and claimed a program best finish in the 10,000-meter with a time of 32.
