BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Seniors Lauren LaRocco and Taryn Rawlings produced phenomenal performances on the first day of the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, with LaRocco earning her seventh collegiate All-American honor, and Rawlings claiming a qualifying spot to advance to the final of the women's mile.
"Taryn did a great job of getting through to the final in a very physical race," said women's head coach Ian Solof. "Lauren ran tough, but didn't have much left in the last mile. She will definitely be ready for outdoor."
Rawlings ran an incredible race in the women's mile to start the day for Portland, finishing third in her heat with a time of 4:37.
