Hot Shooting Helps Pilots Defeat the Broncos 80-68

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The Portland women's basketball team shot 54.5 percent from beyond the arc on the way to an 80-68 win against the Santa Clara Broncos on the road Saturday.

The Pilots (18-6, 12-1) had two players score in double figures, led by Alex Fowler, who had 26 points and six rebounds. Liana Kaitu'u tacked on 21 points off of the bench and Lucy Cochrane added nine points, two steals and three blocks.

Portland out-rebounded Santa Clara 28-23 in Saturday's game, paced by Fowler's six boards.

How It Happened

After falling behind 15-8, Portland went on a 7-0 run with 3:08 left in the first quarter, culminating in a bucket from Cochrane, to tie the game at 15.
