PORTLAND, Ore. --- Portland's Cody Hawken belted a three-run homer and the Pilots held the No. 11 Beavers to just four hits on the night, but Oregon State prevailed 4-3 in a non-conference baseball game played on Tuesday night at Goss Stadium.
The home run is Hawken's sixth of the season, and it came in the top of the third inning with the Pilots (24-26) trailing 1-0. With one out, Matt Kelly reached on a walk, and Daniel Lopez followed with a single to right-center field. Hawken then stepped to the plate and left the yard with a shot to left field to hand the visitors their first lead of the night.
