AZUSA/TORRANCE, Calif.— The Portland Pilots men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the Bryan Clay Invite and the Mt. Sac Relays. Junior Simon Grannetia led the Pilots on the night with a first-place finish in his heat of the 3000m steeplechase, while sophomore Maya Murphy-Cook moved up on two different UP All-Time Records lists with exceptional performances in the 100m and 200m.
Though Grannetia cross the finish line in the steeplechase with a time of 8:43.94, fellow Dutchman Noah Schutte followed closely behind, placing 4th in the race with a time of 8:47.
