PORTLAND, Ore. --- Freshman forward Alex Fowler, who exploded for 35 points during a win at Santa Clara, is the West Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday. This is the second time this season to be named the league's player of the week for Fowler.
Fowler, who hails from Townsville, Australia, averaged 26 points and eight rebounds, shot 65 percent from the field, and went a perfect 3-for-3 on three-pointers as the Pilots swept their WCC road trip at San Francisco and Santa Clara. Her 35 points against the Broncos are the most scored by a Pilot since Jasmine Wooton went off for 36 points in 2013, and she's the first Pilot to score at least 30 points since Cassandra Brown in 2015.
