Cougars Pull Away from Pilots

PROVO, Utah – BYU shot 57 percent from the field and secured a 95-67 victory over Portland on Thursday night in West Coast Conference basketball action at the Marriott Center. Matt Haarms scored a season-high 23 points and the Cougars dished out 28 assists. Latrell Jones paced the Pilots with a season-high 21 points including 15 in the first half.

Portland was without guards Isiah Dasher and Chase Adams, due to injury. The Pilots (6-8, 0-5 WCC) fall to 0-12 all-time against BYU in Provo.

It looked promising early for Portland after a 13-0 run gave the Pilots a 16-9 lead.
