PROVO, Utah --- After a scoreless first half the Brigham Young Cougars scored three times after the break to claim a 3-0 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's soccer game played on Saturday night at South Field. The loss ends the Pilots' four-game winning streak.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half, but Portland's (8-5-0, 1-1-0 WCC) Taryn Ries had a decent chance in the 10th minute. She put a well-struck shot on target, but it was saved as the game remained 0-0.
The Cougars (7-3-1, 2-0-0 WCC) also had some chances in the first half, but Portland goalkeeper Rachel Lusby provided some solid saves to keep the game scoreless.
