SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Sophia Ramos scored a running layup in the waning seconds to give the San Diego State Aztecs (4-1) a 55-53 win over the Portland Pilots (2-2).
The Pilots (2-2) had two players score in double figures, led by Alex Fowler, who had 14 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Emme Shearer added 13 points off the bench and Lucy Cochrane added six points, 11 rebounds, two steals and four blocks.
Portland moved the ball well in Friday's game, piling up 17 assists on 20 made field goals. McKelle Meek's seven assists led the distribution list for the Pilots, just one shy of her career high.
