SANTA CLARA, Calif. --- The Santa Clara Broncos jumped out to an early lead before pulling away for a 106-68 win over the Portland Pilots in a West Coast Conference women's basketball game played on Saturday afternoon at the Leavey Center. Julie Spencer led the Pilots with 14 points.
The Broncos (12-15, 5-11 WCC) shot 51 percent for the game, while holding the Pilots (12-15, 4-12 WCC) to just 36 percent shooting. Santa Clara also connected on 14 three-pointers, and Lindsey VanAllen led all scorers with a game-high 22 points.
Spencer was 6-for-12 from the floor, hit a pair of three's, and led the Pilots in scoring for the 12th time this season.
