LUBBOCK, Texas – Portland Pilots baseball pitcher Brett Gillis has been named a semifinalist for the College Baseball Foundation 2022 Pitcher of the Year Award. He is the only player from a West Coast Conference School to be named a semifinalist.
Gillis has been stellar on the mound for the Pilots this season, ranking first in the WCC and seventh in the nation in ERA at 1.52. That total is also good for third in the nation among pitchers with at least 60 innings pitched. Gillis currently holds a record of 9-1, with his nine wins ranking first in the WCC and third in the nation.
