FRESNO, Calif. – The Portland Pilots (8-1) came out on top in their series opener against the Fresno State Bulldogs (4-5), winning 7-4 off the back of a stellar eighth inning. It's the second game in a row they've earned a win after trailing in the final two innings.
Eli Morse was solid in the start, pitching for six innings with seven strikeouts and only two runs allowed. Four different pitchers made an appearance, with Liam Hatakenaka officially recording the win – his first – and Peter Allegro getting his third save.
Portland had seven runs off 15 hits in this one.
