TUCSON, Ariz. – The Arizona Wildcats posted a 4-0 sweep to snap Portland's five-match women's tennis winning streak on Sunday. Arizona improves to 8-3 overall and 8-0 at home with the victory, while the Pilots drop to 6-3 this spring.
The Wildcats (8-3) took the doubles point with a 6-1 win at the No. 3 position and 6-3 clincher at No. 1.
Arizona then posted straight set wins at the No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the singles lineup to clinch the team score.
At the No. 1 position, Portland junior Jelena Lukic won the first set over Emma Wilson 6-4 and was trailing 4-0 in the second when the overall match was decided.
